Mayan calendar, 2012, earthquakes, tsunamis, devastating hurricanes, global climate change -- are we nearing the end of the world? Will we live to see another generation rise up behind us? If you go to ten different people with these questions, you are going to get ten different answers – and this could get frustrating rather quickly. Why is this? Is there something wrong with the question? No, in fact it is a valid question – one that deserves an answer. As always, here at Harvest Baptist Church, we will not give you “our” answer to this question, but rather simply point you to the Person who has the answer – God Himself! On Wednesday nights at Harvest Baptist Church, we are continuing a series on The Kingdom.  The main theme of the Bible is the kingdom - from Genesis chapter 1 where God gave Adam dominion to Revelation 22 where God sits on the throne for ever and ever.  In the middle was the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ which was the central turning point in the history of the kingdom.

In the Old Testament, the kingdom was physical, visible, and external.  Peace was defined as safe from your enemies, an abundance of crops, and nodiseases.  See the blessings and curses of Deuteronomy 11.

Did God not establish in Genesis 2:17 that consequences will come as a result of our sin? Why is it the wicked men in our society live like royalty, while the God-fearing Christian struggles to pay his rent? Did God go back on His word? Why aren’t these people being judged as the Bible clearly states in Hebrews 13:4 “…but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.”? My answer to that is this – God is finished with America. He’s fed up with the way she has
